Holiday Granola Stuffing Recipe

This is my favorite way to stuff on Turkey Day! This stuffing recipe, created by Sweetgrass superfan Amandalin, is sweet & savory, hearty and fruity. The Cherries in our Cherry Home Companion flavor add a really unique zing that always has people making a face like “Oh!”

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried cherries
  • 1 32oz box of all natural chicken broth
  • 2 cups Cherry Home Companion Sweetgrass Granola
  • 3-4 Tbs butter
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 stalks celery, cut long ways and diced
  • 1 lb all natural sausage
  • 2 golden delicious or granny smith apples, diced
  • 1 Tbs fresh sage, minced
  • 2 tsp fresh rosemary, minced
  • 1/3 fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 Tbs poultry seasoning
  • 1 Tbs salt
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 12oz bag cubed stuffing

The How To

Preheat oven to 350o. Boil two cups of water and pour over the dried cherries to reconstitute – set aside. Pour chicken broth over granola and set aside. Melt butter in a large saucepan on medium-high heat, add onions and celery stirring occasionally. Crumble and cook the sausage in another pan and drain the fat. Set aside. Reduce heat on the onions and celery and add the apples, drained cherries and spices and continue cooking to meld the flavors. Remove from heat and stir in the sausage. In a large bowl combine the granola, chicken broth, cubed stuffing and hot mixture until completely coated. Pour into a greased 9×13 baking dish and bake for 35-45 minutes.
